Pregnancy: 22 Weeks

I didn't post an update last week because well I wanted to relax really. Since starting to blog again I've decided to take things at my own pace and write when I want to and not because I'm chasing stats or feel pressured into keeping up with what everyone else is doing. It's nice taking things at my own pace and having a little break last week was lovely plus work was manic so the last thing I wanted to do was come home and spend more time on a computer.

Any how I'm now 22 weeks pregnant, already! This pregnancy feels like it has went so quickly compared to my first. The baby is definitely more active now and has a party in my tummy most evenings, so much so that the other half can feel it loads. Still waiting on stronger movements for Logan to have a feel, don't want him trying to feel then getting disappointed so I'll wait. My back pain seems to have eased off with having corrected my posture but it does come and go if I do too much or sit the wrong way. What's more painful now is my pelvis and if I sit for a long time I get stiff and sore. Just hoping it doesn't get really bad.

I know I've got 4 months left but the other half and I have started to think about nursery ideas for this little one. Our spare room is currently painted baby blue with white finishings but because it's just recently been painted we didn't want to have to paint it again. It would mean more pennies, which is fine but such a waste, and Logan's baby room was plain creams and browns so we want something different this time round. We definitely don't know the sex of the baby so no idea what we're having but we need to find something that can be either boy or girl with blue in it? I've been pondering maybe Under The Sea theme or possibly choosing a Nursery Rhyme Theme as there's so many. Something like Humpty Dumpty or Hey, Diddle, Diddle would be nice. Who knows really but I'm sure we'll pick something soon and start preparing the room. I'll need to be super organised though as Logan's birthday is in December and the baby is due early January so don't want to be stressing out come the end of the year.

I also saw the community midwife this week which was nice and got to hear the baby's heart beat, was lovely. Finally received my MAT B1 form so will have to sort that for work and since I'm flying away on holiday in October I need to see one of the doctors for a fit to fly form, which btw you now have to pay for! I think the midwife said it was £30 odd, the cheek! It needs doing though so all booked in so I don't forget. My memory is a bit of a nightmare at the moment which doesn't help when you're trying to organise a lot of different things at once. Ah well, at least everything seems to be going in the right direction so can't complain too much.

Sometimes I get carried away with myself so def taking time out this time round :) Yeah you have to get a fit to fly now as some airlines won't let you fly without them! Also for insurance purposes etc. x

Aw what a lovely bump! And I agree with you about the blogging as and when, there really is no point in doing it if you feel pressured- its a hobby for most os us after all! And when you're pregnant it pays to be kind to yourself x x x

I think it really does fly by when you have another little one to look after. I know that mine has - although on the other hand I feel like I've been pregnant for ages! It's so exciting planning the nursery - we just finished ours and it was a major milestone to get it completed. Have you been checking out Pinterest? So many lovely ideas on there. x

I didn't know you needed a fit to fly form at 22 weeks! I never have in the past and flew at 24 and 25 weeks in past pregnancies. Good luck with the nursery theme choosing

Oh So Gawjess - I know, it used to be free and the midwife did it but now a doctor has to do it. Just another way for the NHS to make some pennies I guess!

ghostwritermummy - Yeah it is just a hobby and one I enjoy but sometimes I feel myself getting sucked in and def don't want to be pressured.

Molly - Oh what nursery theme did you go for then? I still can't decide but will have a lot on pinterest as you suggested. Need some inspiration.

Bex @ The Mummy Adventure - Well I'll be flying when I'm 28 weeks so need to get the Fit to Fly organised for then, so in a few weeks I'll be doing it. Hope you enjoy your holiday :)

Oh so amelia - Thank you, thanks for your comment as well. It is nice to see someone at the same stage :) It's 28 weeks I'll be flying and that's when I need the Fit to Fly. You should get your MAT B form at your 22 week check up with your community midwife?

Lovely bump :) who are you flying with? I flew with BA at 32 weeks and they accepted a letter from my midwife with surgery stamp on. They didn't even question it. Worth checking what your airline will allow as mine from my midwife was free x

What a beautiful baby bump! Agree that it is more important to rest and let the writing come when you feel like it. There is nothing worst than forcing yourself to write especially when you are trying to document an experience.

Nursery Rhyme Theme sounds like a great idea. I wish I had thought of that! X
