Review: Green People Organic Children's Products

As you probably know by now I have quite sensitive skin and this has been passed onto my poor son Logan. I'm always on the look out for different products to keep his skin soft and healthy so when the very kind bunch from Green People asked if Logan would like to try out their Lavender Bath & Shower Gel and Baby Salve I couldn't refuse.

A little bit about Green People first of all: "Green People is a forward-thinking company which specialises in organic body care products. With an extensive range of natural products – shampoos, face creams, sun lotions and body washes to name just a few – it is one of the biggest names in organic beauty in the UK. However, it started from very simple roots: the seeking of a mother to help her young daughter. Back in 1994, 2-year-old Sandra was suffering from eczema and severe allergies and just couldn’t stop scratching herself. With much determination, her mother, Charlotte Vøhtz, decided to get to the bottom of the problem. She discovered that many of Sandra’s skin allergies were being triggered by chemical-based household and personal care products. When these were removed – and with the help of a herbal cleansing tonic and a balanced Omega 3 & 6 intake – Sandra’s skin began to clear up."
My other half and I have been using these products on Logan for the last few weeks and we both quite like them. The Lavender Bath & Shower Gel smells great and you only need a little squirt in the bath to create lots of soft bubbles. Logan loves bubbles so this was perfect for him and it meant I didn't have to overload on the product to get the desired amount of bubbles I needed. I often find poorly made bath products create a ton of bubbles to start with before quickly fading away into the water - they also dry your skin out! This bath and shower gel however made lots of bubbles with a small amount and they stayed for the whole time Logan was in the bath. Around 25 minutes, sometimes longer and his skin was left feeling soft not dry. If you're child is older and they prefer the shower then you can use this product to wash them in there as well.

This natural body wash is made without SLS/SLES, Parabens, phthalates and artificial fragrances and is suitable for vegans and vegetarians. This product also contains fairly traded ingredients and even the packaging can be recycled. All very green and friendly. You can purchase the Lavender Bath & Shower Gel for RRP £7.75 for 200ml from Green People.

The Baby Salve is just as good and even more nourishing for the skin. It can be used all over the body to help soothe sore dry and irritated skin. Mums can even use it as a Nipple Cream when breastfeeding so perfect as a 2 in 1 product. This stuff really was brilliant for Logan, he gets some dry skin on his back where his nappy rubs a little and this has really helped to keep that area moisturised. I've also used it on the rest of his body and on his bottom when it's been sore and it's worked a treat. I would say that the baby salve is a little oily but most salves are to be honest.
The Baby Salve has recently won an award for Best Eco Friendly Best Treatment and has 96% organic ingredients for delicate and sensitive skin, brilliant! You'll be glad to know it's water resistant too to help protect against dampness in your babies nappy and it's also suitable for vegetarians. Available in 100ml for RRP £9.70 or 30ml travel size for RRP £3.35 you can purchase from www.greenpeople.co.uk.

Overall two brilliant products which are excellent for sensitive and dry skin. They've really helped my son so I can’t fault them. They do lean towards the more expensive side of children's products however since I have tested them out and know they work well for Logan I would more than likely purchase them in future.

Mummies rating - 8/10
Logan's rating - 8.5/10
