Review: Hallmark.co.uk

Giving cards is normally a big part of everyone's life, from birthday cards and congratulations cards to thank you cards and Christmas cards. There is always an occasion in your diary waiting to be marked by the giving off a card, and to make this job easier and more proactive Hallmark now offer their card and gift services online on their handy www.hallmark.co.uk website!

Hallmark have been ever so kind and asked me to review the whole card making process on their website in return for a few personalised cards of my own so I got stuck in straight away. Their website is just as welcoming and inviting as their stores and all colouring, logos etc have been kept to the same colour scheme so very recognisable.

On the Hallmark homepage there are 6 tabs at the top of the page, one with a little house which obviously means 'home', the other are Personalised Cards, Shop, eCards, In Store and Gift Wrapping. All pretty self explanatory but I'll give you a quick run through. Personalised Cards does exactly what it says on the tin. It takes you to a page where you can browse cards by category which you can personalise and there is even a handy search facility to help track down exactly what you are looking for.

The Shop tab takes you to Hallmarks online gift shop where you can browse gifts for babies, Christmas, children, him and her gifts etc. They have some brilliant storybuddies that have just been released which I'll talk about later. Review on them coming soon! The eCards section again does exactly what it says, select, personalise and send eCards online all for free. You can even post them on facebook. The handy In Store tab lets you locate your nearest high street store and also lets you know how to become an owner of your very own Hallmark! Last but not least check out the Gift Wrapping tab for all your gift wrap needs. Perfect if you're in a hurry and need to make your gifts look extra special.

So how easy was the website to use, well as some would say - easy as pie! Like I said everything is pretty self explanatory, you just select the card you want and away you go. You can personalise till your hearts content with photos and text and they have soooo many designs to choose from. That'll probably be the hardest bit actually, choosing a card!!

After you have finished personalising just click the add to basket button and then you'll get to decide whether you would like to send the card to yourself so you can write in it or you can be super cool and send it direct to the recipient on the date you choose - awesome! Just think, if you wanted to be super proactive you could do all your card orders a month in advanced and have them sent out as and when required.

As with all online shops you'll have to enter your address and card details for payment but not to worry everything is secure. One last question I know you're all waiting to hear, what are the quality of the cards like? They're actually brilliant, just the same excellent quality that you would expect when you purchase a card from instore.

Delivery is quick too with the cards well packaged and labelled so no nasty bends.

Overall a very easy website to navigate and use. Pricing is very competative and fair for what you get and the quality is fantastic. Personalising your own cards is definitely the way to go and I would highly recommend it to anyone. You don't even have to leave the comfort of your own home!

Mummies rating - 10/10
