Review: Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Hygiene Range

Tommee Tippee have launched a great new Closer to Nature Hygiene Range into the market promising "a unique and innovative range of cleaning products, intuitively designed to help you easily incorporate good hygiene practices into your newborn feeding routine. Offering long lasting protection against 99.9% of bacteria & viruses, without the use of bleach or alcohol for a kind and gentle clean." I was sent the Soother, Teat & Teether Wipes and the 150ml bottle of Hand Serum. Here is what I thought.

Soother, Teat & Teether Wipes
These wipes are a brilliant idea, I just use soapy water in the house but when you are out and about you cannot turn to your sink to wash your child's bottle or toys that have been dropped on the floor. They come in a handy pack size of 30 which easily fit into our changing bag without taking up too much space. The wipes are quite big and very moist so you feel that you are giving the dropped toy/ dummy/ bottle a good wipe before your child puts it back in their mouth. These wipes have been proven to kill E.coli, Staphylococcus and H1N1 which is great peace of mind and they contain no bleach or alcohol. Also fragrance free they are suitable for use with bottles, teats, soothers, teethers, small toys and weaning equipment. We used them on Logan's silicone sippy cups, plastic spoons and teething toys. The only problem the other half and I found with these wipes is that they leave soapy suds behind after wiping which put us off a little and we had to wipe his sippy cups before giving them back to him to drink from as getting soapy suds in your mouth would not have been pleasant. You can purchase these wipes for £1.99 for 30 wipes from Tesco, Asda and Toys 'r' us stores.

Hand Serum
We really like the hand serum in our house. It's not runny and dries quickly leaving no residue or wetness which we love as you don't want to have slippery wet hands when picking up your baby. This hand serum kills and protects against germs for up to 6 hours and contains no alcohol or bleach unlike most hand serums on the market. This came in very handy recently when Logan burnt himself with a hot cup of coffee. We wanted to keep our hands as clean as possible when apply vaseline to his burns and this was the perfect way to do it quick and conveniently and with no alcohol or bleach in the serum it didn't irritate his burns. We were sent the 150ml bottle which has a handy pump dispenser but you can also purchase the 50ml bottle for taking out and about in your changing bag with you. You can purchase this serum for £1.99 for 50ml and £2.49 for 150ml from Tesco, Asda and Toys 'r' us stores.

There are more products in the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Hygiene ranges which include; Steri Fluid and Surface Spray. The steri fluid is a great product to use when bottle feeding to help keep your bottles sterile and clean and it is proven to kill MRSA, E.coli, Listeria, Salmonella,Campylobacter, Staphylococcus and Candida albicans (which can cause thrush). You can also use the steri fluid for cold water sterilisation which is very handy. The surface spray looks great as it is safe to use on all surfaces including; high chairs, baby baths, changing mats and small plastic toys. Steri Fuild RRP £2.99 for 500ml and Surface Spray RRP £2.49 for 500ml.

Overall we love the hand serum most as the wipes leave some soapy suds behind after cleaning which is a shame. I think the products are fairly priced though and we really like the packaging. It is soft and gentle which I think really reflects the range as it has no alcohol or bleach in its products.
