5 Reasons to Visit Costa Adeje With The Family

Going on a family holiday is the highlight of the year for us. It means we can relax a little, soak up the beautiful sunshine and let the kids explore and make new friends. We love visiting different places as a family and Costa Adeje is a top family holiday spot. It's a great destination to travel to and is situated on the Southern side of Tenerife in the Canary Islands. As most of you will know the Canary Islands are famous for their great weather most of the year round so they make an excellent holiday at any time. We've visited the Canary Islands in February and November and the weather has still been amazing.

So if you're planning on visiting Costa Adeje as a family you'll want to know what things you can do when you get there. Read on to see my 5 reasons why you should visit Costa Adeje with the family.

1. The Sun
It's a simple no brainier. I live in Scotland and trust me when I say we don't get a lot of nice hot sun year round. It's only sensible then that you want to pick some where nice to go that offers the sunshine in spades! Costa Adeje is pretty hot all year round with the hottest months being August and September where some temperatures can reach almost 29c. The average is around 25c for those months. I like to visit out of season though just because it's quieter for the boy and in March it's still a good 20c and even November it's 21c. Perfect heat for the kids and beautiful sunshine to enjoy your days in.

2. The Beaches
Costa Adeje have several lovely beaches to explore however Playa del Bobo is a great little beach for children. It's small however it's curved bay shape keeps the water nice and calm which means children can play in it without fear of being grabbed by a wave. When we're on holiday we always go for the smaller calmer beaches. It just makes sense when you have young kids. There's also a few restaurants behind it so easy to grab a snack if the kids get peckish.

3. Dolphin & Whale Watching
There's an abundance of opportunities to go dolphin watching and whale watching in Costa Adeje. I've done it a few times and it really is magical seeing these creatures at home in their natural environment enjoying life. Kids would love this activity as you get to go on a boat! You could pretend to be pirates and explore the seas. I know my 8 year old would really enjoy this. It's something the hubby and I haven't done with the kids yet but it's definitely on our list of things to do as a family.

4. Water Parks
There are two water parks to choose from in Costa Adeje. One is Aqualand and it's a lovely water park. We've been to a few like it before which the kids enjoyed and we always try to make a point of visiting at least one when we're on holiday. There's also Siam Park which is massive and looks totally amazing. We've never been but I've heard good reviews and their website is pretty impressive. It's on our list of places to visit the next time we're in Costa Adeje.

5. Jungle Park
A very short drive from Costa Adeje (15 minutes by car) is the Jungle Park. It's a beautiful wildlife park full of gorgeous animals that the kids will love to see. It has lots of different species of birds, primates, big cats, penguins, reptiles, meerkats, crocodiles etc. My daughter loves a good animal park so this would be right up her street. It's not that expensive to get in either compared to some places so well worth a visit. A lot of hotels put on buses to and from these attractions as well so look out for them or ask your hotel reception.

As you've read there really is lots to see and do in Costa Adeje so it's well worth a visit even if you're going without the kids or just as a couple. Find out more about Costa Adeje and I guarantee you'll want to visit for yourself.

Costa Adeje isn't somewhere I'd have ever thought of visiting before but oh man does it look good for kids. And adults!! Who doesn't love a waterpark?! Definitely going to consider this for next year's abroad holiday.

The Jungle Park sounds amazing! I love doing things like that abroad - when we went to Cyprus in 2017 we went to the Zoo there and it was so much fun! xo
