Review: Vertbaudet Summer Boys Clothes

Well now that the better weather is here *cough* well some of the time anyway, it's a good idea to get your kids some good practical summer clothes that can be worn on those hot stuffy days. Vertbaudet kindly sent Logan some clothes to test out for them and they're great little summer pieces.

I'll let Vertbaudet tell you what they're all about: "At Vertbaudet we are committed to giving our customers the very best of everything. That is why you can expect 100% quality, 100% value and 100% service from us. That’s our 100% Vertbaudet promise! You can also take advantage of exclusive designs, more choice, more fashion! Our clothes are designed to meet the growing needs of children. The little design details and features we add, make our clothes easier to put on and take off - helping children to learn to dress themselves. Our practical design features include: elasticated waistbands, side zips, press-studs, clever fastenings and two leg lengths. At Vertbaudet we pride ourselves on the quality of our products. So much so, that we offer a 6 month guarantee on any item you buy. We will refund the cost of any item that doesn’t live up to your expectations - your statutory rights will not be affected."

So what did Vertbaudet send Logan to try? Well he received a lovely pair of 2-in-1 Cropped Trousers and a gorgeous Hooded Sweatshirt. The cropped trousers are brilliant. They have an elasticated waist which are easy to pull up and down and they have ties at the front to help them stay up. You can get them in 3 different colours; beige, green or grey. We got the beige and they're very nice so don't shy away from them just because they're a light colour. Logan's been wearing his for the past month and they've washed really well and come up clean every time. They're in the style of combat type trousers and can be converted easily to bermuda shorts by rolling them up and using the poppers at either side of the trousers. We did this when the weather got very hot a few weeks ago and they definitely helped keep Logan cool, although remember the sun cream! They're 100% cotton poplin featuring 2 large pockets at the front and 2 at the back. The great thing about being able to roll these trousers up is that your little boy can go paddling in the pool/pond/sea without having to take his trousers off or getting them wet.

Vertbaudet currently have these trousers in the sale for £9.80 (check them out) which is a healthy 30% off so now's the perfect time to buy. Sizes start from 2 years and up, we asked for the 3 year old size as although Logan is 2 he's big for his age. I'm glad I did ask for the bigger size as these trousers are quite neat on Logan. I don't think he'll get much wear out of them but then again they only need to last this summer.

The Hooded Sweatshirt is just as good as the cropped trousers. It's lightweight and made from pure cotton so great at keeping your child warm if there's a bit of a wind but won't make them hot in the sun due to the breathable cotton. I think this type of hooded sweatshirt would be perfect for those cool summer nights or maybe on holiday at night when it starts to get a bit cooler as well but it's too hot for a jacket. It's very easy to put on, just pull it over your child's head and ask them to pop their arms into the sleeves and your done. We tried to put this on when Logan was having a tantrum, as it was cold and we didn't want him catching a chill, and it went on so easily he hardly even noticed. There's a little motif at the front and has a v-neck which is nice, haven't seen many hooded tops like this. You can purchase in 3 different colours: dark pink, steel grey or green however I think the green is more of a turquoise as that's the one we received and it isn't a strong green if you know what I mean.

This hooded sweatshirt is machine washable at 40c which is the same as the cropped trousers and retails for £16.00 (check it out). It did maintain it's shape after washing so I'm pleased about that as some sweatshirts tend to shrink, this one obviously didn't. The sizing starts from aged 2 as well and I think Logan really likes this jumper. It must have been comfortable for him to wear as he didn't try to take it off or complain it was irritating him in anyway and he did like the bright colour.

So there you have it, some great summer kids clothes that are quality and practical all rolled into one with a brilliant 6 month guarantee. What could be better? The price of the cropped trousers in the sale is great but I think the hooded sweatshirt is a little bit on the expensive side for what you get. Saying that Logan loves his and it's done him well so far, hard wearing too. The sizing is on the small side for these clothes so I would always tend to order the size above, it's been that way for Logan for both of these items so maybe something to watch out for.

Mummies rating - 7/10
Logan's rating - 8/10
