"Have you ever lost a sock? One minute it might be swirling around inside the washing machine, and the next - it's gone! But even if it was your favourite sock, there are always plenty of others in the drawer. But have you ever lost a toy? Maybe it was your favourite toy. It's often the favourite toys, isn't it? And favourite toys can't easily be replaced... So, where do the lost things go?"
We were sent a copy of Where The Lost Things Go that is hardback and has a lovely padded cover, but you can also buy it in paperback. The book measures 23x23cm and has 48 pages altogether. The first thing that strikes you about the book are the illustrations. The front cover looks magical and inviting for adults let along kids so it's sure to catch their eye. Infact when Logan spotted it he came running over and began to flick the pages to look at all the images. The front cover also has some shiny lettering and little shiny star type dust which has been beautifully done.
So what is the book about? The title does give it away a little but to explain further it's a lovely story about how toys can be lost inside a washing machine and end up travelling down a long pipe at the back of the washing machine into a forgotten garden. The toys then go on a magical adverture together. It's such a great story and the illustrations are first class, there's lots of interesting details and little things to point out and show your child when you read the book together. Logan is a little young to fully appreciate the story but he loves looking at all the pictures and is constantly picking up this book to have a look. I often read this book to him when he goes to bed and he does listen and watch quite intently.
You can purchase this book from Amazon for £6.99 at the moment for the hardback version (RRP £9.99) or you can purchase the paperback on Amazon for £5.39 but I'd definitely go for the hardback if I were you.
Overall a fantastic book and one which I would highly recommend. I'd say Logan is a little young for it but then again his friend who is 2 years old as well would really appreciate this book so I'm sure you'll be able to judge for yourself (recommend age is 5 years old). This book would make an excellent gift as well as it's such good quality.
Mummies rating - 10/10
Logan's rating - 8/10
