Review: Theraline Kids Animal Neck Pillow

Now that Logan is getting older it's time to start introducing pillows and duvet covers to him instead of his usual growbag at bed time. The lovely people from Theraline have kindly sent Logan one of their cute animal neck pillows to test and review for them so here is what we thought.

Theraline says; "Theraline animal neck pillows are the ideal combination of a cuddly toy, sleeping and travelling pillow. Your baby can now simply take its cuddly toy with on short or long routes; use as a head support and as a pillow in guest beds."

There are 3 very funky animal neck pillows to choose from; a dragon, sheep or the sun. We chose to try out the Dragon which is very cute and cuddly. You can choose 2 different sizes in these pillows, either baby (small) or toddler (large), to suit the size of your child. Even though Logan is only 18 months old we chose to have the toddler pillow as he's quite a big boy and will be growing fast so this should last him longer. The dimensions of the pillows are as follows: large: approx. 85cm x 15cm, small: approx. 65cm x 10cm so if you are unsure of what size to get atleast you can measure it out and see for yourself. These pillows are filled with a fine sand-like micro-bead filling which will be soft to cuddle but also help support your child's neck with comfort.

So we used this neck pillow in Logan's cot at night for bedtime and I would place him on it to go to sleep. It supported his neck well as the micro-beads moulded to fit his shape but he wouldn't stay on it long as I think he thought it was a toy because it is colourful and has a big smiley face. He normally sits for a little while playing with it before snuggling down to sleep and even then he preferred to lie on his front so the pillow wasn't used much which is a shame. It is big enough to support him comfortably but also not as bulky as some other neck pillows which is good so when he does decide he wants to lie on the pillow it does do its job.

I think these neck pillows would be better suited when travelling with your child, we have a holiday planned for later this year and I will definitely be taking this on the plane with us as Logan has his own seat and this will support his neck if he wants to go for a nap. The design of the Dragon itself is very good, big smiley face, lots of little bits for small hands to explore and it is well made so safe for babies and toddlers. I also like it that the eyes of the dragon are stitched on so no bits that can be pulled off and choked on!

As well as these neck pillows for children Theraline also make maternity and nursing pillows which has won the Mother & Baby and Practical Parenting & Pregnancy Silver Awards and it's definitely something to purchase when pregnant or nursing, I could never have coped without mine!

You can purchase your very own Animal Neck Pillow from Theraline's online shop for RRP £19.90 (large) £18.90 (small).

Overall a lovely neck pillow that is high quality and does it's job. It's a shame that Logan preferred to lay on his front when sleeping but I think this would be best suited to travelling for example car and plane journeys. Logan did like it as a toy however so it hasn't gone to waste and it goes in his cot with him every night. The only thing that puts me off is that it is quite pricey for a children's pillow.

Logan's rating - 7/10
Mummies rating - 7.5/10

Do you experience the ill effects of neck pain at whatever point you woke up each morning? Neck pain pillow might be the solution for your neck torment sufferings as it has been found that unnatural or uncomfortable body stance is the purpose for such issues.
